How many sessions do I need?
It depends on what you want. I offer long and short term counselling and psychotherapy. Short term counselling can be between 1 and 12 sessions, and long term is over 12 sessions or open ended. We can discuss during your first session your thoughts on this and we can discuss this at any moment during our sessions. In collaboration with you, I will review how session are going at regular intervals to ensure you are getting what you need from them.
Fees
Fees are £75 per session – A session lasts for 50 minutes – If you would like longer then the fee will be adjusted accordingly and agreed between us. I can update the registration form to reflect any agreed difference and will send to you prior to us working together.
Fees are reviewed every January.
Ending Therapy
Ending the therapy is usually discussed in advance. Should you decide to end therapy before originally planned I would suggest you to come to one last session so we can say goodbye, however the decision on whether to do this is always yours to make.
What if I need to cancel?
I require a minimum of 48 hrs notice (excluding weekends) to cancel without charge, if I don’t receive this receive this the full session fee is payable.
What if I have to cancel with less than 48 hrs notice?
I will try and rearrange your appointment within the week of your session, If this is not possible the full fee will be payable.
Is it confidential and private?
Everything is confidential, with the exception of concerns about yours or another persons safety/wellbeing, or a serious illegal act has taken place. Where possible I will discuss this with you first. This follows the guidelines of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy (to visit the BACP website CLICK HERE).
